Super Search (Ctrl+K): 9 Tips That Save an Hour a Day

Short answer: stop using the sidebar. Hit Ctrl+K, start typing what you want — invoice #4019, Acme vendor, last week's WHT — and press Enter. Super Search jumps you straight there.

The nine tips, in order of payoff

  1. Type the invoice number. "4019" opens it. "INV-4019" too. We're flexible.
  2. Use natural language. "expenses last week" filters the expense list for you.
  3. Jump to settings. "tax profile", "users", "fx rates" — they all land you on the right screen.
  4. Run actions. "new invoice", "new bill", "new expense" open the right form in one keystroke.
  5. Find a vendor. Partial names work. "ace" finds Acme. "haz" finds Hazara Steel.
  6. Search inside documents. Text from uploaded PDFs is indexed — type a unique phrase from a receipt and it surfaces.
  7. Switch companies. "switch to HUBKOM" jumps to that workspace without leaving the keyboard.
  8. Recall recent items. Open Ctrl+K and just press Enter — it shows your last five touched records.
  9. Chain a question. Ask "how do I file WHT?" and Super Search hands it to the AI Copilot.

Why this feels faster than the sidebar

The sidebar is great when you don't know what you want. Super Search is great when you do. Most days, you know exactly which invoice you're chasing. Skip the three clicks.

Make it muscle memory

  • Pin the shortcut card in your team Slack for the first week. People copy what they see.
  • Use it for navigation, not just search. "dashboard", "approvals", "petty cash" all work.
  • Teach your accountant the action verbs. "new", "open", "find", "go to" — those four cover 90% of daily use.
Productivity result: save ~1 hour every day with Ctrl+K Super Search in ONE ERP — fewer clicks, faster access
Power users report ~1 hour a day saved versus sidebar navigation.

FAQs

Does Ctrl+K work on Mac?

Yes — Cmd+K does the same thing. We accept either.

Can I search inside PDFs and attachments?

Yes. We OCR uploaded files on the way in, so the text inside a receipt or bank PDF is searchable.

Is Super Search scoped to my company?

Always. You only see results from companies you have access to — row-level security takes care of that.
